El Top 20 de los artículos del American Economic Review

Por su 100 años, American Economic Review (AER) encargó al comité conformado por Kenneth J. Arrow, B. Douglas Bernheim, Martin S. Feldstein, Daniel L. McFadden, James M. Poterba, y Robert M. Solow; escojer los 20 artículos más importantes que fueron publicados en la AER durante el siglo pasado.

Algunas de las referencias para la elección final fueron el número de citas del artículo en otras investigaciones y el número de investigaciones en JSTOR . Por supuesto que a ello se sumó la calidad intelectual, la influencia en las ideas y aplicaciones  de los economistas y la significancia general en el desarrollo de la teoría económica y en las decisiones de política en el mundo real.

Los que destacan en la lista son Diamond y Stiglitz, con dos artículos cada uno. El top 20 comprende los siguientes papers:
